Honoring Alan Heywood

Alan and Sue Heywood
On 1st October 2015, not just Carryou Ministry but countless other people, suffered an enormous loss, when Alan Heywood lost his battle with cancer.
The Carryou Ministry has been a part of the Heywood family’s lives since 2001, when Alan and Sue first visited the orphans, patients, feeding centers, creches, and the children’s homes and schools in and around Randfontein. They were moved to help, when they saw, first-hand, how Carryou supports and helps educate hundreds of children in an area experiencing poverty and sickness, mainly due to HIV/AIDS.
Together with other friends, who sponsor individual children, fund-raising events have been organized by St. Mary’s Church in Tuxedo, New York, to provide books and games for the children, computers for the students, food parcels for the child-headed and granny-headed households and further education for the teens finishing high school.

But even at a sad time like this, the Heywood family, and the people of Tuxedo, continued to think of those in need and asked that Alan be honored with donations to St. Mary’s Church for the Carryou outreach ministry.
Over $9 000 was collected and transferred to Carryou. The donation is to be used to help sponsored children, provide food parcels for all the families needing them, assist with the educational needs and help with food parcels.
"Alan would be pleased and honored that this money will help the children, young people and families which are the community of Carryou," writes Sue Heywood.
"The need goes on and we will not stop caring."
