Droogeheuwel Events venue in Randfontein, hosts monthly music festivals and asks visitors (mostly members of the Randfontein community) to bring food and clothing etc. to be distributed to local charities.
It's a wonderful initiative that helps many struggling people in the town and its surrounding areas.
In December, they held a concerted charity drive, to collect clothes, non perishable foods, blankets and toys -- and the response from Droogeheuwel patrons was astounding!
Recently the items collected were distributed to three Randfontein-based charities, including Carryou Ministry.
"We are touched and deeply grateful for the many bags containing children's clothes, blankets and toys," say Rev. Lawrence Mabaso, Carryou Ministry, General Manager.
"They will bring joy to some of the more than 1 000 kids we assist each month.
