The gift of reading

The school library had few books.
When our dear, American friend, Sue Heywood, visited Carryou Ministry last year, one of her ports-of-call was the Mablomong Farm School, situated on the outskirts of Randfontein.
"I saw there was a desperate need for books for the school's library," says Sue, "and promised I would try to do something about the situation when I returned to the US."
The kids at the the Tuxedo Park School in New York and other people in her community, eagerly answered her call for help.
"The children raised $1300 dollars to be used to buy books," says Sue.
And so it was a case of much joy and many beaming faces when Mablomong school-principal, Nkele Mathibela, recently received a cheque for R11 310.00 from Carryou Ministry on behalf of the generous kids at Tuxedo Park School.
The presentation was made by Carryou Ministry, Chairperson, Pat Semeno who was accompanied Carryou Ministry General Manager, Rev. Lawrence Mabaso and Mzi Tshikitsha, Home-based care Programme Manager.

Smiling kids who will now have a wider reading choice.
